En Vogue joins the campaign for Earth Day

This year marks the 45th anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in the 70’s, the Earth Day. To celebrate this day, events around the world are held to demonstrate support for environmental conservation and protection.

Locally, both the public and private sectors in the UAE have shown their support to the climate campaign towards a more sustainable future. We, at En Vogue, join the community in creating awareness about making environmentally sound choices on everyday living. We believe that choosing eco-friendly home decors is not just a smart move but fashionable as well. Luxury living is “green” living.

Here’s a look at some of En Vogue’s nature-friendly interior design options for a style that’s both beautiful and responsible even celebrities would agree.

Julia Roberts, Liz Taylor, Elton John, Donnatella Versace, Aaron Spelling, and Julie Andrews are some of the famous personalities who have shown their fascination with our very own luxurious and eco-friendly Rigaud scented candles.

All ingredients used in formulating the wax of this Jasmin scented candle are biodegradable. With fresh green top notes of bergamot and bitter orange and base notes of benzoin, rosewood and sandalwood, the sweet aroma of Jasmin will invite sensuality at every moment. Each candle is hand-poured and tested to provide a premium quality. After they had met all the requirements, they are carefully packed in glasses and in boxes manually, which is a tradition of the great French luxury houses.

One of En Vogue’s gems is the fabric range from Kravet. The Kravet Green collection is made of 100% recycled polyester, which is a unique blend of post-industrial and post-consumer fibers woven and treated with no additional chemicals. During the finishing process, water-based products and environmentally-approved dyes are used for a look that is eco-friendly without sacrificing style or quality. After years of enjoyable use, these fabrics are fashionably recyclable.

GREENSQUARE Shandong Console Table

We do agree that living with vintage furniture has a very positive effect on the environment. Like this 1750’s console table in elm. It still has the remains of the original lacquer from the Shanxi Province of China. It has aged in beauty. You will find that the antique products that we stock from Green Square were created in the past but have retained their value for posterity. Recycling treasures from the past for our lifestyle today not only saves landfill space and trees but also breathes new life into beautiful old wood.

GUAXS Cubistic Indigo-Smoke Grey Vases 1

Every single form of GUAXS vases we have on display at En Vogue is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Designers and craftsmen from Germany focus on creating high-quality interior design objects and produce valuable items that are created to last. They only use sustainable materials such as metal, leather, wood, natural stone and primary glass, which all have a long-established craft tradition.

As Henry David Thoreau once said, “What is the use of a house if you don’t have a decent planet to put it on?” Create a home with environmentally-friendly furniture and accessories and join us in our crusade.
